Facial Recognition Tested At U.S.-Mexico Border

A new tool for the Department of Homeland Security is being tested at two ports of entry along the U.S.-Mexico border in Arizona.

Customs and Border Protection is using facial recognition technology to confirm the identities of people walking across the border in Nogales and San Luis. It’s part of a pilot program that is raising concerns with civil liberty groups.

Stephanie Beasley, a transportation security reporter for Politico, joined The Show to share more. She wrote about the biometric technology being tested at the San Luis port of entry.
