The Show recently covered a new survey on sexual assault and misconduct on college campuses from the Association of American Universities, which followed up on a similar survey done in 2015.
Among the findings in this year’s version: about a quarter of undergraduate women said they’d been the victim of nonconsensual contact.
The AAU survey included 33 schools, including the University of Arizona. There, more than a quarter of students reported sexual assault or other misconduct.
Kendal Washington White is the vice provost for campus life and dean of students at UA. She joined The Show to talk about these results.
The University of Arizona is one of five universities in the country that are going to take part in a new program known as Enhanced Access, Acknowledge, Act Sexual Assault Resistance or EAAA.
Sessions will include up to 20 women taking part and the groups will either meet once a week over four weeks or they’ll gather for a single weekend. And the goal is to reach 2,000 students.
