'Because Internet:' Book Delves Into Understanding Online Language

Have you ever heard someone speak and thought they sounded like they were from an earlier era based on the words or phrases they use? It turns out, that same concept applies online.

Internet language has changed, LOL doesn’t mean what it once did and some punctuation can now be problematic in certain settings.

Linguist Gretchen McCulloch delves into that in her book, " Because Internet: Understanding the New Rules of Language."

She joined The Show to talk about this phenomenon.
