The Show regularly checks in with Editorial Board of the Arizona Republic to talk about the big issues facing the state and the region — featured in the newspaper’s Viewpoints section.

The union representing Phoenix police officers decided late Friday not to hold a vote of no confidence against Chief Jeri Williams. The Phoenix Law Enforcement Association, or PLEA, threatened the vote after Williams fired three officers over separate incidents.

In a column over the weekend, Abe Kwok said dropping the no-confidence vote was a wise choice for the union.

Phil Boas, editorial director of the Arizona Republic, joined The Show for his weekly appearance to talk about it.
