Arizona Rejects Plan To Divert Buckeye Groundwater To Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station

The state Department of Water Resources has rejected a proposal from APS to use groundwater in the Buckeye area to cool the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station.

The quality of the water in question is considered poor, yet opponents of APS’ plan argued that it is already used by residents. APS has 30 days to appeal the rejection.

To talk about this development, The Show reached out to the Arizona Republic’s Ryan Randazzo.
