New Mexico Attorney General Calls For Special Needs Training For Police

New Mexico’s Attorney General Hector Balderas wants changes made in how law enforcement officers deal with kids with special needs.

He wants a state law mandating specific training for officers, a decision that arrived following two separate incidents involving special needs students.

To learn more about what Balderas wants to do and how schools in Arizona and elsewhere could approach changes, The Show was joined by Danielle Wallace, an associate professor at ASU’s School of Criminology and Criminal Justice.
