The group representing nearly 250 public school districts in Arizona has a new leader.
The Arizona School Boards Association announced it has hired Sheila Harrison-Williams as its next executive director.
She’ll take over the role on Jan. 1. She succeeds Timothy Ogle, who served the association since 2012.
Harrison-Williams is currently the interim superintendent for the East Prairie Schools District No. 73 in Illinois.
The hiring culminates a national search for a new leader at the association, which represents more than 1,000 public school board members at schools serving more than 1 million Arizona children.
