Pinkfong, a brand of the South Korean company SmartStudy, has announced it's working with the Navajo Nation Museum to create a new version of "Baby Shark."
Museum Director Manuelito Wheeler reached out to the company.
"We need to be pursuing ways to ensure our language endures," Wheeler said. "We gotta have as much content as we can in our own language."
Wheeler hopes the song will spark interest among kids to learn the language. The museum was also behind efforts to create Navajo versions of "Star Wars," "Finding Nemo," and most recently "A Fistful of Dollars."
SmartStudy has translated "Baby Shark" into 19 languages. It plans to release the Navajo version by the end of the month.
In case you're wondering, the Navajo word for shark is lóó hashkéhé, which translates to "angry fish."
