Mohave County Prohibits Non-Service Animals Inside County Facilities

Mohave County is now prohibiting animals from county facilities, with the exception of service animals. They are no longer allowing pets inside county buildings.

“We had a recommendation from our emergency and risk management that we needed to move in that direction because we were receiving some complaints from departments and from customers," County Manager Mike Hendrix said.

City officials say they want to avoid the possibility of a lawsuit if these animals were to bite someone. They also want to be mindful of people with allergies, those intimidated by certain animals, or anyone with specific concerns.

This new rule went into effect immediately.
