Parts Of Phoenix Area Covered By Fog

This morning, parts of the Valley were blanketed in an uncommon fog. Rain over the past few weeks has added low level moisture to the atmosphere. This has caused fog over the Valley.

Marvin Percha, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service, said, “Fog is basically a cloud that develops near the ground. In order to have a cloud you have to have a humidity of 100%. At that point, when the humidity is 100% the temperature and the dew point are the same temperatures.”

Percha says fog reduces visibility and urges caution while driving. He expects the fog will clear by late morning.
