The United States and Japan have reached a deal that has U.S. farmers feeling hopeful.
The deal opens up Japan’s markets to U.S. beef and other agricultural products. The agreement will lower tariffs on U.S. beef exports from 38.5% to 9% over the next 15 years, and it will completely remove tariffs on other agricultural goods. And all this is particularly good news for Arizona’s ranchers.
To explain how this will affect Arizona beef farmers, Stefanie Smallhouse, the state president of the Arizona Farmer Bureau and co-owner of DBA Carlink Ranch in Pima County, joined The Show.
