Department Of Defense Watchdog To Review Border Wall Contractor

The Pentagon’s inspector general plans to review a $400 million contract awarded to a North Dakota company to design and build a portion of the border wall in Arizona.

The Department of Defense’s internal watchdog said this week it plans to initiate an audit of that agreement.

Earlier this month, concerns were raised by the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee about the Army Corps of Engineer’s decision to award the deal to Fisher Sand and Gravel.

The chairman said President Donald Trump repeatedly urged the corps to give the contract to the company, which prior to getting it, had not been awarded any construction projects because its proposals hadn't meet the operational requirements of Customs and Border Protection.
