Arizona Clean Elections Commission Educating Voters Against Misinformation

The Arizona Clean Elections Commission has approved a voter education campaign for the 2020 election season.

At a meeting Thursday, the five nonpartisan commissioners approved a plan to help voters prepare for the 2020 election season.

Tom Collins is the Clean Elections Commission’s executive director. He says voter education will be key in ensuring election security.

“Because a voter who’s informed is a voter who is going to have a built in immunity, if you will, to the kind of misinformation that might spread on social media,” he said.

Collins says that could include incorrect dates and locations for voting or turning in ballots. He says voters should double check information with elections officials.
