Photographer Weighs In On Closure Of Antelope Canyon To Photo Tours

Photo tours will no longer be run through one of Arizona’s most photogenic natural features.

Upper Antelope Canyon, on the Navajo Nation in northern Arizona, will still have regular tours, but not photo-specific ones, and visitors will no longer be allowed to bring tripods.

The slot canyon is known for its colors and light beams, but has become more and more crowded over the past few years.

Mike Koopsen is a landscape photographer based in Sedona. He’s taken photo tours of the canyon in the past, and he joined The Show to talk about the decision to end them going forward.
