Rainy Week Ahead For Phoenix Area

While it won’t be a white Christmas for residents across metro Phoenix, it’s likely to be a rainy one. Some areas could even see hail.

Andrew Deemer is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. He said chances for rain and thunderstorms will begin Monday night and continue throughout the week.

“If you have any kind of plans on Thursday, we might get another shot at kind of the same stuff some thunderstorms, some showers definitely a possibility again on Thursday and maybe even on Friday,” Deemer said.

Deemer said temperatures are also expected to start dropping Tuesday with highs around 60 degrees and lows in the low 40s.

Residents in the high country areas are expected to see between two and eight inches of snow between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
