Bill To Reduce Prescription Drug Prices Will Benefit Arizona Seniors

Earlier this month, while we were all focused on impeachment proceedings in Washington, D.C., House Democrats passed another major piece of legislation: a sweeping bill aimed at reducing prescription drug prices.

The bill will allow the federal government to negotiate lower drug prices with drug companies and bar them from charging Americans significantly more than consumers in countries overseas.

It passed largely along party lines, with Republicans arguing it will suppress innovation and limit the number of drugs available on the market. But Steve Jennings is with the AARP Arizona cays it will make a big difference for seniors.

Jennings says the cost of prescription drugs have gone up exponentially in Arizona.
