History is dotted with examples of child geniuses bestowing the world with their talents — Mozart penning his first composition at age 4; Bobby Fischer becoming chess grandmaster at 15.
More recently, 8-year-old Adhara Pérez Sánchez from Mexico City may one day join that list. Adhara has already graduated from high school and has been extended an invitation to attend University of Arizona by President Robert Robbins.
But what happens to these child prodigies when they get to college and face the pressures and expectations that affect students in their late teens and 20s?
David Henry Feldman, a professor in Tufts University’s Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Study and Human Development, joined The Show to talk about life for a child genius.
