Trump Administration Wins Appeal, Pushes Border Fence Projects Forward

The Trump administration vowed to continue work on various stretches of new fencing along the U.S.-Mexico border Thursday after a ruling in its favor by an appeals court freed up construction money.

A lower court had stopped construction on 175 miles of the southwest border in areas along all four border states.

The U.S. government sought to use $3.6 billion from more than 100 military construction projects to pay for the buildup.

The 5th Circuit of Appeals cited an earlier ruling last summer by the U.S. Supreme Court lifting a similar injunction that hindered the project.

In Arizona, the funding will go toward construction of new barricades around Yuma.
