Maricopa County Board Of Supervisors Seek Applicants To Fill Assessor Job

Paul Petersen recently resigned as Maricopa County assessor, and now the county’s Board of Supervisors has come up with a plan to fill the job.

Petersen was suspended in October after getting arrested on charges of running an illegal adoption scheme.

A former county official has since been running the Assessor’s Office, but with Petersen having officially quit, the Board needs someone to finish out the term that expires at the end of December.

Registered Republicans living in Maricopa County have until 5 p.m. on Jan. 27 to submit a letter of interest, a resume and fill out a form with questions like how to restore public trust and start a culture change.

Applicants can submit up to three letters of recommendation, and the Board may choose to do interviews before making a final choice.
