The latest statistics on hate crimes indicate a positive direction as Arizona’s numbers, according to the FBI, are at their lowest in five years. The 2018 figures were down 39% from 2017.
But there are concerns that the numbers are inaccurate since victims may be afraid of actually reporting a hate crime — or they may not view an incident that way.
