How APS CEO Jeff Guldner Plans To Go Carbon-Free By 2050

Jeff Guldner took over as CEO of APS and its parent company Pinnacle West in November. In that time, he’s made multiple appearances before utility regulators armed with sharp questions and apologized to thousands of disgruntled customers following a rate tool error.

And now, he’s back in the news — this time with a promise.

Today, Guldner is committing to delivering 100% clean, carbon-free energy to customers by 2050. To get there, he has laid out a plan to include more renewable energy in the company’s portfolio and to end all coal-fired generation by 2031.

Guldner sat down with The Show to discuss the broader goals of his plan. He also discussed energy shutoffs and another promise — that APS won't spend money in Arizona Corporation Commission elections.
