What A $1 Billion Budget Surplus Means For Arizona

The legislative agency that tracks state revenues and spending came out with a very optimistic forecast. Arizona is on track to have a budget surplus of $1 billion come July.

The Joint Legislative Budget Committee briefed lawmakers Tuesday on how much money the state expects to bring in and what upcoming expenditures are possible.

One of those in attendance was Beth Lewallen, founder of Italicized Consulting, a research and communications company that focuses on public policy. She joined The Show to put the projected surplus into context.
