Terminal 2 at Phoenix’s Sky Harbor Airport is closing. But curious members of the public can visit the terminal one last time.
Terminal 2 opened in 1962 at a cost of $2.7 million. At the time, it was considered one of the most modern facilities of its time. But with the completion of the modernization project at Terminal 3, it’s time to say goodbye to Terminal 2, which is home to Alaska Airlines and United Airlines.
Sky Harbor is hosting a farewell party next Tuesday from 4-8:30 p.m.
Visitors can view the large scale mural, "The Phoenix," one last time. That’ll be moved to the Rental Car Center next year. Other historical exhibitions will also be on hand.
