Navajo Casino Hosts Job Fair

The Twin Arrows Casino east of Flagstaff is hosting a job fair Friday.

The Navajo casino and resort is hiring people for positions in food and beverage, hotel, accounting, security, table games and other areas. Officials with the Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise say jobs include competitive salaries, health and retirement benefits, plus on-the-job training and health club memberships.

The job fair comes after one of the tribe’s largest employers, the Navajo Generating Station, shut down. Many of the people who worked for the plant have been redeployed to other Salt River Project facilities down in the Valley. Some chose to stay up north to decommission the power plant and others retired.

The Navajo Nation’s economic development division estimates 42% of the tribe is unemployed.
