Monday Hearing Set For Rideshare Bill

A bill that would put a stop to rideshare fees at Arizona’s airports will have its first hearing Monday. This comes after Phoenix planned new fees at Sky Harbor.

The bill's sponsor, House Republican Travis Grantham said the proposed fees are excessive.

"And it’s going to ultimately cause rideshare companies to pull out of the airport," he said. "That forces citizens like me, who use ride-share to get to the airport to look at more expensive alternatives that are supported by the airport because of the arrangements they have made with the airport and with the cities."

Grantham’s bill would keep cities and towns from imposing any fees on transportation network companies, which the state regulates. It would be retroactive to December 2017.
