Larry Siegel of the Poisoned Pen recommends 'Hymns of the Republic'

The Show's Page Turner series asks local booksellers to talk about their latest recommendations.

Meet Larry Siegel with Poisoned Pen Bookstore. He shared about the book "Hymns of the Republic: The Story of the Final Year of the American Civil War" by S. C. Gwynne.

The book is historical nonfiction, and reviewers are calling it a vivid narrative of the events and personalities of the last year of the Civil War. Two of the main players are Robert E. Lee and Ulysses S. Grant.

But, as Siegel told The Show, it’s not just a history book. It goes much deeper. And, when the book begins, Siegel says things looked like they might turn out very differently.
