The Show regularly checks in with the Editorial Board of the Arizona Republic to talk about the big issues facing the state and the region — featured in the newspaper’s Viewpoints section.

A bill that would allow community colleges to offer four-year degrees in Arizona has passed the Senate Education Committee.

It’s an effort that has been in the works off and on for a number of years, but opposition has consistently come from the state’s three public universities.

Republic columnist Bob Robb wrote about the legislation this weekend, and Editorial Page Director Phil Boas spoke with The Show about it in his weekly appearance.
