Signed into law in 2010 by then-Gov. Jan Brewer, SB 1070 required Arizona law enforcement officers to investigate the immigration status of people they suspect of being in the country illegally.
Now, Arizona Republic reporter Uriel J. Garcia looked at records of calls between the Phoenix Police Department and Immigration and Customs Enforcement from recent years and found on average seven calls a day were made between Phoenix police and ICE.
