Winnie Ruth Judd, also known as the "Trunk Murderess," has been the subject of a lot of speculation over the years.
Historians cite her case as helping to put Phoenix on the map in the 1930s.
And now, a new play about Judd’s case will be opening next week, as part of Phoenix Theatre's 2020 Festival of New American Theatre. Ben Tyler and Cathy Dresbach wrote “The Truth About Winnie Ruth Judd.”
