Town Next To The Grand Canyon Makes Big Push For Development

Tusayan
The town of Tusayan sits at the entrance to Grand Canyon National Park.

Last year, Grand Canyon National Park in northern Arizona was the second most visited national park in the country, with just shy of 6 million visitors.

And, the town just outside of it — Tusayan — is looking to expand in a big way. They’ve partnered with Italian developer Stilo to build large hotels and hundreds of new homes in the area.

And, as Arizona Republic reporter Ian James reported this week, Tusayan has also been spending quite a bit of money on lobbying efforts. The Show spoke with him more about it.
