Kino Border Initiative Director Calls 'Remain In Mexico' Program Inhumane

Since the Trump administration implemented its so-called "Remain in Mexico" program a little over a year ago, an estimated 60,000 asylum seekers have been forced to wait on the other side of the border for their court dates.

Just last week, a federal appeals court put the program on hold last week, ruling that the policy violates U.S. and international law. But now the same court is allowing the Trump administration to keep it in place for a few more days until the Supreme Court can review it.

The administration has said the Migrant Protection Protocols have been essential in stemming the flow of migrants coming across the border to seek asylum in our country.

But The Show's next guest calls it inhumane. Father Sean Carroll is a Catholic priest and the executive director of the Kino Border Initiative, which runs a shelter for migrants just across the border in Nogales, Sonora.

He  has been outspoken about the effects of the this policy.
