The Maricopa County Recorder’s Office is opening three polling places today for early voters in the Democratic Presidential Preference Election.
"Souls To The Polls" is a partnership between the Recorder’s office and Valley faith leaders to offer early voting on Sundays.
County Recorder Adrian Fontes says the goal is to reduce lines on election day and improve access to the polls.
"We strive to improve accessibility in a way that reduces lines and crowding Election Day, and Sunday availability brings us closer to that goal," Fontes said. "Whether you fill out your ballot at your kitchen table or at a Vote Center on Sunday, your vote is your voice, and it is important to cast your ballot in every election."
Fontes says it plans to continue opening early voting centers on Sunday throughout the 2020 election cycle.
There are three early voting centers that will be open between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday, March 8:
- Surprise City Hall, 16000 N Civic Center Plaza, Surprise
- Burton Barr Central Library, 1221 N Central Avenue, Phoenix
- Recorder's Mesa Election Office, 222 E. Javelina Avenue, Mesa
