'It's More Expensive To Pay For Preschool Than It Is For Community College' In Arizona

Thirty families representing the state’s 30 legislative districts came together at the state Capitol on Wednesday for Arizona’s first  Strolling Thunder, an event advocating for babies and families.

It’s part of the Arizona Early Childhood Alliance’s Early Childhood Day at the Capitol, and the goal is to draw attention to the earliest years of life and how investments in early childhood impact our growing communities down the road.

Lawmakers are considering at least one measure aimed at supplementing child-care costs for families who are transitioning away from cash assistance.

But Jake Adams of Southwest Human Development says the state is far behind when it comes to early childhood education and development.

The Show sat down with Adams ahead of the event to find out what investments state lawmakers are considering in this legislative session and what exactly is on the line.
