Arizona Education Association Calls For Students To Stay Home

The Arizona Education Association is encouraging all students in Arizona to stay home from school until Gov. Doug Ducey presents a plan to curb the spread of the coronavirus and ensure safe schools.

Calling on the governor to convene a special session of the state legislature and meet with state education and health leaders, the AEA says it’s necessary for the health of the greater public.

“The primary concern we all share is the health, safety, and welfare of all students, families, and educators, as well as the safety of the broader community,” the AEA said in its letter to Gov. Ducey. “District leaders and staff must be able to guarantee re-opening schools in a way that is safe for everyone involved.”
