After several weeks of heavy rains, the reservoirs along the Salt and Verde rivers are near capacity.
One year ago, the system was 76% full. Now, it’s 95% full.
SRP says it plans to release excess water from the Granite Reef Dam into the Salt River, which means unbridged crossings over the Salt River in Mesa will be closed and the normally dry Salt River bed will likely have water flowing through it.
According to SRP, this is the wettest March on record since 1992.
