LAUREN GILGER: OK, Steve, usually around this time, restaurants and food lovers like me are all picking their favorite restaurants that they want to go to for Arizona Restaurant Week.
STEVE GOLDSTEIN: But, as we know because of coronavirus and new rules that have been put into place, restaurants aren’t able to serve customers meals in their dining rooms. So the Arizona Restaurant Association had an adapted idea: Arizona Takeout Weeks.
GILGER: That’s right! Restaurants and bars across the state are turning to takeout and delivery during as this time so the restaurant association says that Arizona Takeout Weeks — not just Week— is on now and will end, well, when people can go back into restaurants.
GOLDSTEIN: Usually restaurant week is reserved for specific restaurants that create special menus at a higher price, but in an effort to help local establishments, more than100 restaurants are involved at different price points.
GILGER: I mean, Steve, you can always bring it home and light some candles at the table if you're missing that sort of restaurant dining room experience.
GOLDSTEIN: I tend to light candles in the bathtub, but that's a good point. You know, it might be a good change of pace from sitting on my couch and watching movies like I usually do if I order takeout. I could sit in my backyard and pretend I'm on my favorite restaurant patio, Lauren.
GILGER: Yeah, that's not a bad idea. I'm definitely missing patio season, but you know, put up those bistro lights.
