Effective Friday, the Arizona Department of Revenue’s Mesa office is reducing its in-person services for Arizonans who need help with their state tax returns.
One week after reducing in-person services at its offices, the Arizona Department of Revenue announced it will be transitioning its Mesa office to a secure drop-box only.
In-person appointments are still available at the Phoenix and Tucson offices.
The Department of Revenue also set up a website for taxpayers with a live-chat function and tutorial videos that spokesperson Ed Greenberg says can answer most common tax questions.
"While the Department of Revenue’s focus is on the health and safety of our customers and employees, the department also recognizes it has a responsibility to serve taxpayers with tax season questions and other inquiries," Greenberg said in a statement to KJZZ.
Customers wishing to make an appointment can request one via e-mail at [email protected]
The state’s income tax deadline has been moved to July 15th to align with the new federal deadline.
