The Coronavirus Canceled Sports. Here's What We're Missing

The list of sporting events cancelled or postponed due to the COVID-19 virus is an extremely long one.

It ranges from big events like the NCAA men’s and women’s basketball tournaments to the 2020 Summer Olympics and all major American sports to cricket matches, rugby and soccer tournaments.

For each one of those events and sports, there are fans who would love to be able to watch those games. But instead, the general lack of sports is, for some, a constant reminder of just how different the the current times are.

The Show spoke with Terry Shoemaker, a lecturer at Arizona State University who studies the relationship between religion and sports in the United States, about what people are currently missing by not having sports to turn to amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
