Some fourth-year med students at the University of Arizona College of Medicine will be allowed to graduate early, so they can start working on the COVID-19 response.
But even with that happening, the ways med schools are teaching the next generation of doctors has changed, and some of those changes may be permanent.
Dr. Guy Reed is a cardiologist and dean of the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix. He shared what he believes is the biggest challenge this outbreak is putting on the medical education system in this country.
