'Kind Of Whiplash Inducing': Phoenix Looking At Budget Deficit Weeks After Having Surplus

A month ago, Phoenix officials were looking at a more than $25 million budget surplus. Now, they’re looking at roughly that amount of a budget deficit, and it could get worse.

It will be a major consideration when city council members start the budget process next month.

The Show discussed all of this with Phoenix City Manager Ed Zuercher. He started by sharing about the dramatic shift in the city’s budget picture.
