The online services for the Motor Vehicle Division were shut down for three days as it implemented new updates to the system.
The biggest update has been the introduction of a new personal account on the website. This will allow people to access the website’s services directly through their account.
The updates also reportedly provide a more user-friendly experience as well as expanding their online capabilities.
ADOT’s assistant communications director Doug Nick said that some parts of the department’s online system go back as far as 35 years and were in need for an upgrade.
The upgrades are state wide as well as covering authorized third-party providers. Services at MVD offices will remain closed until tests and transitions are finished.
