University Of Arizona Scientists Tracking Coronavirus Spread Through Wastewater

Researchers at the University of Arizona are looking for signs of coronavirus in particular communities by analyzing the wastewater generated by those communities. There’s a similar project taking place at Arizona State University.

The approach is not new — scientists have used it to look for poliovirus, among other viruses over the years.

For more about how this works and exactly what they’re looking for, The Show spoke to Dr. Ian Pepper, director of the Water and Energy Sustainable Technology — or WEST Center — at the University of Arizona.
