Arizona Farmers Concerned As Government Suspends Immigration

President Donald Trump’s tweet in mid-April about suspending immigration put many people and industries on edge. That includes Arizona farmers, who largely depend on visa-holding immigrant workers to harvest their crops.

But, the Trump administration on April 21 clarified the suspension. It will last 60 days — for now — and will not include those temporary workers for the tourism or farming industries. However, that doesn't relieve Arizona farmers of their worries.

For more on where farmers here stand amid this pandemic and its economic fallout, The Show spoke with Stefanie Smallhouse, president of the Arizona Farm Bureau.
