Dr. Shawn D’Andrea works in the emergency rooms of Fort Defiance, Arizona, on the Navajo Nation.
His background is in international emergency medicine, and he worked in Sierra Leone during the Ebola epidemic in 2015.
As D'Andrea watches the COVID-19 pandemic grow around the world and on the Navajo Nation, he says it’s raising some health care challenges that go beyond even what Ebola presented five years ago.
