Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb says he will not cite or arrest business owners who violate Gov. Doug Ducey’s extension of a statewide stay at home order.
The governor extended the mandate from April 30 to May 15, but made concessions for some businesses.
Lamb said, “This is their ability to go out and support their families. The curve’s not gone up. It’s stayed flat. Now they’re moving the goal post and that’s one of the problems we have and what they’re doing is putting us in a pickle now.”
Lamb said he believes constitutional rights overrule the governor’s orders.
As of Saturday morning, Arizona Department of Health Services reports there are 8,364 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the state and 348 deaths.
