The National Weather Service is predicting record-breaking temperatures again this week. Meteorologist Sean Benedict says low humidity will add to the heat.
“We’re looking at temperatures climbing back into the mid-100s, 105 to 107 range, by like Wednesday and Thursday, and potentially even like a degree or two higher than that," Benedict said. "Normal for this time of year is right around the low-90s.”
Near the middle of the week, temperatures will approach the record highs for those dates.
"There's going to be a chance on the Wednesday and Thursday time frame," Benedict said. "I believe the record on Wednesday is 106 and the record on Thursday is 108."
In the high country, Benedict says temperatures could go up into the 80s. In warmer parts of the state, 110 degrees is not out of the question.
