The coronavirus pandemic has prompted the need for increased safety in every corner of people’s lives.
And with recent wildfires, state officials for the Bureau of Land Management in Arizona are reminding people to take additional precaution to prevent them.
Spokesperson Dolores Garcia said firefighters now face even more challenges than just controlling a blaze.
“Firefighters on the ground are trying to maintain some social distancing as much as possible, but we’re monitoring our firefighters on a daily basis so they can go out and do their job safely."
Garcia said Arizonans in the high country should trim up trees and everyone in the state should make sure vehicles don’t have dragging chains, for instance.
As recently as Thursday, there were two brush fires in Apache Junction.
