Both Bartlett Lake and Lake Pleasant were completely full Saturday as people sought escape from triple digit high temperatures.
Maricopa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Joaquin Enriquez says despite the crowds, lake visitors are practicing social distancing responsibly - and still having a good time.
“We do limit the amount of boats, 100 people on the lake," Enriquez said. "I’ve seen some video. I’ve seen some pictures of people out there swimming in the lakes, kayaking, jet skis, boats, you name it. It looks like a regular May weekend.”
Enriquez said people are behaving well, citing fewer tickets and arrests compared to last year.
