The announcement was made Tuesday by the Radio Television Digital News Association.

Excellence in Sound: " Loud Mexico City: Exploring The Sounds And Noise," by Rodrigo Cervantes and Jorge Valencia.

Excellence in Video: " Arizona Bookbinding Shop Produces Rare, Exquisite Bible," by Casey Kuhn and Justin Stabley.

Excellence in Writing: " Sex And Medicine," by Nicholas Gerbis.

KJZZ was one of only four stations in the large market radio category to earn seven awards.

Winners move on to the national round of judging, which will be announced later this year. Last year, KJZZ won a national Edward R. Murrow Award for the continuing coverage of the Arizona #RedForEd teacher strike.
