Former Vice President Joe Biden is all but assured of getting the Democratic presidential nomination. That means he and his team are in the process of choosing his running mate.
Reports indicate his short list is probably topped by Sens. Kamala Harris and Amy Klobuchar, plus former Georgia state lawmaker Stacey Abrams.
However, a new piece in the Atlantic by Jonathan Rauch suggests the most sensible candidate may be former Homeland Security secretary — and former Arizona governor — Janet Napolitano.
